We are seeking a Renewable Energy | Senior Engineer to join our team who has both, passion and experience performing renewable energy detailed design with a focus on solar photovoltaic, wind energy, battery storage, energy infrastructure, transmission and substation systems.
The successful individual will join an integrated and growing team of utility renewable focused practitioners that cross disciplines in a holistic service offering inclusive of electrical & power engineers, civil & structural engineers, and energy and sustainability consultants.
It is expected that this role will be focused on the engineering design and project management of large-scale renewable energy facilities, BESS, transmission & distribution, and substations from early stage development through to detailed design. The candidate will be expected to contribute to current work and collaborate with related disciplines to deliver quality products via digital and in-person interactions. Candidate will be based in Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Francisco or Los Angeles.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in electrical substation, solar, BESS and Wind projects.
Proficiency in high voltage control system design, system integration, and commissioning support of SCADA system.
Experience in designing and integrating equipment from several power system equipment vendors such as SEL, GE, Eaton, Schneider, Siemens etc.
Experience in Con figuration and commissioning of Wind/Solar/BESS plant controllers is preferred experience.
Experience with Fiber optic based ethernet network communication and must be able to prepare specification and cost estimate/evaluation for SCADA equipment.
HMI and SCADA programming of various Substation interfaces and integration with wind/solar/BESS plant controllers. On-site system integration and commissioning support. Coordinate and support field construction and commissioning teams
Support in the design, programming, integration and commissioning of IEC 61850 protocol relays (GOOSE messaging etc.)
Prepare substation, Solar and Wind Farm WAN network diagrams and telecom equipment rack/panel front view drawings using Microsoft Visio.
Coordinate with SCADA Engineers in Protection and Controls to assist with RTU configuration.
Maintain awareness of NERC-CIP requirements related to SCADA and RTU architecture, physical and electronic station security.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or technology (Tech) from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing
Minimum of 10 years related work experience
Hiring Range: The good faith base salary hiring range for this job performed in Houston is $115,000 and $150,000 . Benefits are not included in the base salary range. Summary of benefits are included in this posting with details provided to applicants at the time of interview. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Houston will differ.
